Bluebird is an interesting bus. Originally sold in Ireland, she's right-hand-drive, naturally, and this makes for some exciting driving (and left-handed manual shifting) in the U.S. The interior was all nicely redone by the previous owner, an upholsterer in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He also had her fitted with a 2.0-L GD engine, replacing the old 1600 that was stock. Unfortunately, the engine was fitted with a 1975-era fuel injection system, so that may be replaced with one of appropriate design. Bluebird will be lots of fun, after I get through my punch list, which includes:

• refinishing the rear interior floor
• refinishing the gas tank compartment floor
• new fuel lines
• proper venting of the gas tank vapor lines
• new tires (DONE!)
• new shocks
• install seat belts all around
• seal the bed to be water-tight
• new slats on the bed
• minor welding on the drop gates
• reworking of all door handles and locks
