Mission:

PAC 8 exists to insure fair, equal, and high quality access for all individuals and groups of Los Alamos County to the medium of television.

Scope:

PAC 8 provides a variety of programming including current events, arts, sports, entertainment, health issues, religious activities, services, education and sports.

The station operates community announcements 24 hours a day with regular scheduled programming during the hours of 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. on the weekends.

PAC 8 is incorporated by the State Corporation Commission of New Mexico as a non-profit organization, effective October 9, 1981. PAC 8 is registered as a 501(c) 3 corporation with the U.S. Bureau of Internal Revenue.

PAC 8 is funded and authorized to operate under approval and direction of the Los Alamos County Council as prescribed in Chapter XVII, Article I of the Code of the Incorporated County of Los Alamos, New Mexico, dated December 31, 1979, and the Agreement of Operation of Cable Television Access Channel 8, first signed January 14, 1982.

PAC 8 exists as a corporation to manage, administer, operate, and promote the public access channel described in Chapter XVII, Section I of the Code. PAC 8 also provides advice to the County Council on matters of policy for public access cable television in Los Alamos County.

MEMBERSHIPS

Individual Membership:

Allows an individual voting privileges at monthly and annual meetings. $10.00/year

Organizational Membership:

Allows an organization voting privileges at monthly and annual meetings. $25.00/year

Certified Individual Membership:

Includes individual membership plus training. 1 equipment rental, 1 session editing facilities,2 broadcast quality tapes $25.00/year

Certified Organizational Membership:

Includes organizational membership plus training for four people, 2 equipment rentals, 2 sessions editing facilities, 10 commercial quality tapes. $100.00/year

Did you know that PAC 8 currently reaches almost 4,000 homes in Los Alamos?

PAC 8 provides a recreational and leisure outlet for all age groups who are interested in the production of quality video.

The majority of programming is produced by Los Alamos residents as members of PAC 8.

In addition, PAC 8 received for cable cast 154 programs produced outside of Los Alamos.
