The Los Alamos school was established in early 1969 (making the local school the oldest martial arts school in Los Alamos and one of the oldest in the state of New Mexico). The local school started with one class of 8 students and has developed over the years to 10 classes and as many as 200 students in the Northern New Mexico area. Students range in age from 6 to over 80 with almost half being women. Classes are taught through the Los Alamos County Parks and Recreation, the YMCA, Los Alamos National Laboratory (Club 1663), and the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos Campus. Classes are held in Los Alamos and White Rock, NM. There are about 4 dozen active Black Belts all under the direction of Master Ron Geoffrion.
