Mission Statement

The Mission of Los Alamos Senior Citizens Program is to provide service, fellowship, instruction, and advocacy for Los Alamos citizens who are 50 years of age and older. The Centers are places where Seniors learn, share meals, socialize, have fun, and support each other as they interact with a respectful and service oriented staff.

Administered by the Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization, the Los Alamos Senior Citizen's Program is a many faceted organization. There are two Centers: Betty Ehart Senior Center in Los Alamos and The White Rock Senior Center in White Rock. From these Centers emanate a variety of activities, classes, trips, and help programs. A lunch program and a van service are coordinated at Betty Ehart Senior Center. The AARP and RSVP programs are also housed at that location. An adult day care center, The Day Out, is located at the Betty Ehart Senior Center. Additionally, there are numerous activities that are connected to the program, but meet at other locations.

The Los Alamos Retired and Senior News is a production of the Los Alamos Senior Citizens Program and the Los Alamos RSVP. It is funded, in part, under a contract with NCNMEDD Area Agency on Aging.
