Plans are underway for the 22nd annual Los Alamos Heart Council Health Fair to be held at Griffith Gymnasium in Los Alamos on Saturday, October 27, 2007. The Heart council is pleased to announce that it will again underwrite this event. The Health Fair is an educational and informational event which promotes health awareness and healthful decision making through activities and educational material distribution; identifies health resources and services in the community; and provides the opportunity for health screening and self-assessment. An important goal of the Heart Council is to attract and encourage the involvement of younger participants in the mission of the Council, and the organization and activities of the Health Fairs. We welcome any suggestions and comments that will help us achieve this goal.
The activities during the Health Fair include the ever popular Flu shots,
lab test of normal blood profile, distribution of children's bicycle helmets,
and many exhibits by local healthcare-related vendors and professionals.
This year, we are adding two new blood tests - Thyroid function (TSH),
Hemoglobin A1C (for diabetics only), and C-Reactive Protein high sensitivity
(hs-CRP) - for an additional fee to the normal blood profile.
Please click here for more information about the activities organised for the 2007 Health Fair, and here if you are interested to know more about the 3 new blood tests offered this year. |
