Participants have the choice of camping or staying in lodging
accommodations in and around the town of Los Alamos.
Camp May
Free developed camping located at Pajarito Mountain
Ski Area in the Santa Fe National Forest. Facilities include porta johns,
tables and fire pits. Water will be available during the day at the Ski
Lodge which is only a km away. Overflow camping will also be available
at the ski area lots away from the lodge area.
Directions: From NM 501 (West Jemez Road) follow the
signs to Pajarito Mountain. Continue driving past the ski hill lodge
area up the dirt road to the camp sites.
Forest Service Land
Primitive camping is available on the Forest Service
land along the ski hill road.
Directions: From NM 501 (West Jemez Road) follow the
signs to Pajarito Mountain. Camping available at various locations off
the road below the main ski hill area.
Ponderosa Group Campground
Developed camping located in Bandelier National Monument.
Directions: From the south on NM 502 follow the signs
to White Rock where the road splits. Continue though the town. The road
will turn into NM 4. The campground will be several miles out of town
past the entrance to Bandelier National Monument and just before the
turn to Los Alamos on NM 501. Look for the turn on your left.
From Los Alamos take NM 501 (West Jemez Road) until you reach a T intersection.
Turn left and the turn for the campground will be less than a mile on
your right.
